Accounting Services Manager (700ASM)

As the Accounting Services Manager you will supervise a team of staff accountants and directly interact with our accounting clients as well as perform accounting tasks for some of our clients with more complex accounting issues.

Controller (701CON)

Summary

Plans, directs and supervises the functions and activities of general and cost accounting, payroll, and financial planning and analysis activities.  Provides counsel and advice to  General Manager (GM) and Managing Director (MD).

 Position Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise all accounting employees and all accounting activities to insure adherence to appropriate accounting policies, and to support Centerline's aggressive growth requirements.
  • Manage all general ledger and payroll functions and maintain all related accounting books, records and forms.
  • Utilize current system, and as necessary develop and install additional systems, to monitor cost control and related activities including but not limited to:
    1.  
      1. managing physical inventories and maintaining inventory records
      2. analyzing manufacturing capacity
      3. analyzing employee productivity
  • Administer the analysis and interpretation of Centerline's sales, costs and profits.
  •  Administer and implement financial planning and budget preparation.
  • Administer preparation of accounting and financial reports for management.
  • Seek ways to improve financial reporting and controls and recommend necessary changes.
  • Pursue profit improvement and other potential savings for the company.
  • Review all capital expenditure requests and insure that required financial analysis has been completed where required for those proposals requiring GM and/or MD approval.
  • Assist in the management of relationships with lenders.
  • Provide support for the preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Manage the company's audit and relationship and with the independent accountants.
  • Establish and manage the company's system for internal controls and delegation of authority with respect to expense approvals and capital expenditure approvals.
  • Constantly seek ways to increase and improve the participation with all departments in the use of accounting/financial/management information for planning and problem solving purposes.
  • Assist the GM and MD in developing overall financial plans and in implementing approved programs.
  • Perform special assignments as required by the GM and MD.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or closely related field is required.  MBA / post-graduate degree in accounting/finance or closely related field preferred.  Minimum of five or more years of increasingly responsible experience in an accounting or finance role.  Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing or production related environment preferred. 

We offer 

Pay range is $80 - $110K.  Probably will be a 5-10% bonus but that will have to be negotiated.

Purchasing Manager (700BUY)

Leading polyethylene and PVC manufacturer in Texas, is looking for a Purchasing Manager for its Houston area blown film and profile extrusion plant.  We manufacture polyethylene sheeting, polyethylene bags and plastic profile extrusions and have been in business for over 50 years.  

Responsibilities

  • The ability to build a strong report with vendors but maintain the strength to negotiate the best price each and every time. Be able to negotiate pricing and terms that are to company's advantage.
  • A key responsibility will be collaboration with other members of the raw materials procurement team to develop additional alternative sources of scrap and raw materials to achieve best available cost, quality, reliability, continuity and delivery.
  • The incumbent will negotiate specific terms of purchase contracts subject to company policy and guide lines, verify purchase order details and assure vendor performance.
  • Research, locate and set up new vendors
  • Schedule raw materials with production to insure the correct material in inventory.
  • Utilizing the in-house procurement software tool to ensure accuracy of orders and goods received.
  • Serve as a team resource to expedite materials delivery, resolve invoicing issues and ensure requisition process is user friendly, accountable and efficient
  • Produce status reports, track and anticipate cost shifts in raw materials pricing and support the inventory control process as needed.
  • Able to address mission critical purchasing needs in close collaboration with maintenance personnel
  • Keep Plant Manager, President and CFO abreast of purchasing issues, trends and challenges
  • Added project work as needed to meet the needs of the business

 Requirements

  • General knowledge of Polyethylene (LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE ETC) and additives.
  • General knowledge of PVC, Acrylics and additives.
  • Several years of experience in Purchasing for manufacturing operations as a Senior Buyer or Procurement Supervisor.
  • A general knowledge of inventory management and computer skills.
  • Amerisoft systems experience is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in negotiation, supplier development, and cost reduction.
